NM9 Student-Athlete Club

Youth Safeguarding Policy

Effective October 13, 2026 · NM9 Performance LLC

Most of our members are kids. Parents trust us with their athlete's time, effort and faith, and we protect that trust on purpose. This policy explains how we keep every athlete safe, and what we expect from every adult and athlete in NM9 spaces.

01Who this covers

This policy applies to everyone who takes part in NM9 Performance programs: NM9 staff, coaches, moderators and volunteers ("NM9 adults"), member athletes, and parents and guardians. It covers the website, member portal, courses, the private member community, emails, live sessions, film reviews, camps, clinics and any other NM9 event or space.

02Parents are in charge

  • Every membership for an athlete under 18 is bought and owned by a parent or legal guardian. The parent is the account holder.
  • Before an athlete joins the member community, a parent or guardian must sign the NM9 Parent Agreement.
  • Parents can see everything their athlete can see in NM9 spaces, and can ask us at any time to change, pause or remove their athlete's access.
  • We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent must set up and control any membership used by a child under 13.

03How NM9 adults communicate with athletes

The simple rule: no private, one-on-one communication between an NM9 adult and a minor athlete. Ever.
  • No private messages. NM9 adults do not send direct messages, texts, emails or social media messages to a minor athlete unless a parent is included on the same message.
  • Group spaces are public to members. Coaching happens in member channels, live group sessions, or messages that copy a parent.
  • No personal social media connections. NM9 adults do not follow, friend or message minor athletes from personal accounts. Official NM9 accounts may like or share public posts that tag NM9.
  • Reasonable hours. Communication with families happens between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM local time, except for emergencies or event logistics.
  • Professional tone. No private nicknames, gifts, secrets, special favors, or comments about an athlete's body or appearance.

04Live sessions and Elite film reviews

  • Group live sessions (huddles, Q&As) happen on official NM9 links that are shared with members and parents.
  • One-on-one virtual sessions, including Elite film reviews, are booked by a parent. A parent or guardian must be present on the call or in the room, and the athlete joins from a common area of the home, not a bedroom.
  • Sessions may be recorded for the family's own use and for safety. Families are told before any recording starts.
  • In-person NM9 events follow the "rule of two": an NM9 adult is never alone with a single minor athlete where they cannot be seen or heard by another adult.

05Screening and training of NM9 adults

Every NM9 adult who coaches, moderates or works directly with athletes must pass a background check and complete abuse-prevention training before working with athletes, and must refresh that training every year. They must also agree to this policy in writing.

06Photos, videos and privacy

  • Never post another athlete's photo, video, full name, school, address, phone number, schedule or live location without their parent's permission.
  • Don't share your own exact location, school schedule or home address in NM9 spaces.
  • NM9 will not use a minor's image or name in paid advertising without the parent's written consent, and will remove any content on request.
  • Recruiting information (film, stats, contact details) is shared only by the parent, and only with the people the parent chooses.

07Health, safety and training

  • NM9 training content is educational, not medical advice. Athletes should have a doctor's clearance where appropriate and train within their ability, with a parent's OK.
  • Pain, dizziness, a suspected head injury, or signs of disordered eating or burnout mean stop and tell a parent. NM9 adults will always encourage rest, recovery and professional help over "pushing through."
  • NM9 does not sell or recommend supplements to minors.

08What is never allowed

Bullying, harassment, hazing, threats, hate speech, sexual content or jokes, grooming behavior, pressuring an athlete to keep secrets, asking for or sharing private images, drugs or alcohol, gambling, selling or soliciting, and contacting athletes outside NM9 spaces without a parent. Any of these can lead to immediate removal from NM9, and serious concerns will be reported to the authorities.

09How to report a concern

If a child is in immediate danger, call 911. To report suspected child abuse you can also call the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-422-4453 (24/7), or your local child protective services.
  • Report anything that worries you, even if you're not sure, through our contact form with the subject "Safety Concern." You can also reply to any NM9 email.
  • Athletes: tell a parent or another trusted adult first. You will never be in trouble for speaking up.
  • Every report is taken seriously, kept as private as possible, and reviewed promptly by NM9 leadership. We may pause someone's access while we look into it.
  • NM9 adults must report suspected abuse to law enforcement or child protective services as required by law, and must never investigate on their own or confront the person involved.
  • No one will be punished or treated unfairly for making a good-faith report.

10Enforcement and updates

Anyone who breaks this policy may be warned, suspended or permanently removed from NM9 programs without refund, and NM9 adults may be removed from their role. We review this policy at least once a year and will email members when it changes in a meaningful way. This policy is part of the NM9 Terms of Service.

Faith Over Fame

Community Guidelines

The NM9 Student-Athlete Club community is a place to grow, not to show off. Every athlete and parent agrees to these guidelines when they join.

1Lift each other up

Celebrate effort, not just results. Encourage athletes from every sport, level and background. Disagree respectfully, or not at all.

2Keep it clean

No profanity, sexual content, put-downs, trash talk aimed at other members, or content you wouldn't want your coach, parent or pastor to see.

3Protect privacy

Don't post addresses, schools, phone numbers, schedules or locations: yours or anyone else's. Don't post photos of other athletes without permission.

4No private messages between adults and athletes

Adults (parents and coaches) talk with other members' athletes only in shared channels, never by private message.

5No selling, spam or recruiting pitches

No ads, promotions, giveaways, links to sell things, or unsolicited recruiting offers.

6Respect the game

No negative posts about coaches, officials, teammates, opponents or schools. Faith Over Fame on and off the field.

7Speak up

If something feels wrong, report it through our contact form or tell a parent. Moderators may remove posts and members who break these guidelines.
